08/19/2013 Update Internet Browsers Suggestion

Patron Suggestion:

Technology is constantly changing everyday including interenet browsers. I tried using Google Drive in the Scan Room but was denied due to using an older version of Internet Explorer. I suggest updating the internet browsers on all the comptuers in the Library in order to use the latest online web applciations. Thanks!

Library's Response:

We have been busy replacing over half of our 80 student computers with newer models, and we plan to replace more of the older models, which includes the ones in the Scanning Room. Your suggestion is a great one in that Google Drive would be very useful on those scanning computers, so we will bump those up on our list and make sure the internet browsers are up-to-date. Thank you!

We are aware that there are serious problems with our computers at this time, and we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. 01/17/2013 Films on Demand Suggestion

Patron Suggestion:

Please place a more easily accessible link to Films on Demand on the Academic Resources --> Huie Library page. I use it for my students. Often I assign them to watch films and it always seems to be hard for them to find the 'videos' link and then locate the Films on Demand. Just a thought. Like the new pages.

Library's Response:

Thank you for the suggestion - we are always looking for ways to improve our website. Unfortunately, it is difficult to put links to databases on the library hompage without completely cluttering it up and making it unusable. We will continue at looking at ways to make it easier to find.

Right now, the easiest way to find the Films on Demand database from the homepage and from any of our webpages is to hover over the "Databases" link on the top menu bar and click on the "Databases A to Z" link in the drop down menu. Since Films on Demand starts with an "F", click on the "F" and the Films on Demand link will be at the top of the list.

I hope that helps you and your students! Thank you.
