Gabrielle Calvin earns best of show in art competition

Gabrielle Calvin, a senior from Hot Springs was awarded Best of Show for her digital image entitled Hello? in the 2019 Student Competitive Art Exhibition at Henderson State University.

Kayla Barry, a junior from Marianna, was first runner-up for her oil on canvas. Allison Wright, a senior from Hope earned second runner-up for her red terracotta and paint.

Receiving honorable mention were Aaron O’Quinn and Cat Wachob.

• Destiny Lepard, President’s Purchase Award
• Aaron O’Quin, two Provost Purchase Awards

• Nancy Salas, Peer Choice Award

The selected pieces and other entries will be on display in the Russell Fine Arts Center gallery weekdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through May 3.
